Language of the Soul: An Interview with Peter (People Theatre)
Music often says what words cannot. We have prepared this conversation for you in text form, in both English and German. Peter from People Theatre, the creative mind behind the Heartbeat Mix of “Die Liebe”, shares his very personal perspective on a bond that has grown through the years.
1. The Chart Storm
Question: “Peter, looking back 11 years to the album Entre Quatre Yeuxx: While Sara and Guido are currently working silently on new material, your Heartbeat Mix of ‘Die Liebe’ has unexpectedly stormed the US and German Alternative Charts. How does it feel to witness this timeless success once again after more than a decade?”
Peter : It’s a strange feeling, because i perfectly remember making the remix, as if it was yesterday. It’s always very moving when you receive a request for a remix, because it means the band chose you, because they feel i could understand the song, and maybe what’s hidden inside. This modern storm is, to me, a good signal about what this era finally isn’t. We use to say any album or single has a short life expectancy, whatever the quality. This storm, 11 years after, proves us wrong. It’s quite the opposite to me : internet makes music eternal, especially the good one. It doesn’t age.
2. The Reaction Dynamics
Question: “Within minutes of Alain De Grox re-posting the video on his blog ‘Synth Heaven‘, dozens of messages poured in. How do you explain this massive, sudden surge in worldwide interest for a song that seemed firmly established as a classic in the archives?”
Peter : i explain it first by Alain’s talent to dig out of the past songs he likes. He brings a new image , a new visual and therefore we discover a brand new vision of those songs. I’ve been lucky he did it for many of my songs, productions or remixes. Well done, Alain !!!
The second point is, according to me, the audience has been waiting for this. The music that has been released around 2010 didn’t get proper promotion, the usual ear to mouth that spreads like wind within our big community. We were lost, i guess, facing the decay of sales and trying to find a new way to tease the audience. Now that we have a clearer vision, things can go faster and better. This is why i feel honoured Alain chose my version of this beautiful song.
3. Connection through Sound
Question: “You have been crossing paths with Sara Noxx for many years, contributing various remixes through your project ‘People Theatre‘. Do you think people see ‘Die Liebe’ as perhaps something more than just music?”
Peter : Yes definitely! It always had a special place in my heart, and maybe that’s why i added my voice in the mix (i do the „come to me“ bits).
On Die liebe, there is a summary of every caracter a woman is : the companion, the lover, the mother too. I find the original is a mix between tenderness and something rather erotic. That’s why i thought something was missing in the first version of my remix : the reply of the other lover, surrounded by her kindness, her charm, her soul. So i took the microphone and recorded in one take the growing impression Sara’s voice made on me. I was hypnotised. This song has a soul. People feel it.
4. The Momentum of the Return
Question: “Hardbeat Propaganda reached out last Sunday night because ‘something is happening around Sara Noxx.’ To what extent does this success give your mix a new significance for the upcoming return of Sara and Guido, which they are currently preparing in secret?”
Peter : That shows Sara still has a big place in this community’s heart, which i never doubt. The combination between Her and Guido sounds promising. I know him for quite a long time. I’m sure he knows how to create the perfect landscape for every message Sara wants to send.
5. A Look at People Theatre
Question: “Looking at the global airplay, the chart positions, and the fan feedback from today—as well as back then: what kind of momentum does this moment give your own project ‘People Theatre’ for 2026? Is there something new coming from you?”
Peter : this momentum gives me more confidence in my work. As a composer, singer, producer and remixer, receiving compliments about what you’ve done, knowing it touches, moves some people is a great reward ! I will release my third E.P. this year. I’m sure those who like the remix i made for Sara will enjoy the two records i’ve released and this forthcoming one!

Ein zeitloser Sturm: Das Comeback von „Die Liebe“ – Interview mit Peter (People Theatre)

Peter von People Theatre, der kreative Kopf hinter dem Heartbeat Mix von „Die Liebe“, teilt seine ganz persönliche Sicht auf eine Verbindung, die über die Jahre gewachsen ist.
1. Ein Klassiker stürmt die Charts
Frage: Peter, während Sara und Guido im Geheimen an neuem Material arbeiten, hat dein Heartbeat Mix von „Die Liebe“ völlig unerwartet die Charts erobert. Wie fühlt es sich an, diesen Erfolg nach über einem Jahrzehnt erneut zu erleben?
Peter: Es ist ein seltsames Gefühl, denn ich erinnere mich an die Arbeit an diesem Remix, als wäre es gestern gewesen. Es berührt mich immer sehr, wenn eine Band mich fragt, ob ich einen Song bearbeiten möchte. Es bedeutet, dass sie mir vertrauen, den Kern des Liedes – das, was tief darin verborgen liegt – zu verstehen. Dieser „moderne Sturm“ ist für mich ein wichtiges Signal. Man sagt oft, Alben hätten heute eine kurze Halbwertszeit. Dieser Erfolg nach elf Jahren beweist das Gegenteil: Das Internet macht gute Musik unsterblich. Qualität altert nicht.
2. Die Macht der Community
Frage: Kaum hatte Alain De Grox das Video auf seinem Blog Synth Heaven gepostet, explodierten die Klickzahlen. Wie erklärst du dir diesen plötzlichen weltweiten Hype um einen Archiv-Klassiker?
Peter: Zum einen liegt es an Alains Talent, Perlen der Vergangenheit auszugraben und ihnen durch eine neue visuelle Ebene eine frische Vision zu verleihen. Zum anderen glaube ich, dass das Publikum genau darauf gewartet hat. Um das Jahr 2010 herum ging durch die Krise der Musikverkäufe viel verloren; die Promotion war schwierig. Heute, mit einer klareren Vision und einer starken Community, verbreiten sich gute Songs wieder wie der Wind. Ich fühle mich geehrt, dass Alain ausgerechnet meine Version gewählt hat.
3. Mehr als nur Musik: Die Seele im Sound
Frage: Du arbeitest schon lange mit Sara Noxx zusammen. Glaubst du, dass die Fans in „Die Liebe“ mehr sehen als nur einen Song?
Peter: Definitiv! Das Stück hatte für mich immer einen besonderen Platz. Deshalb habe ich damals auch meine eigene Stimme in den Mix eingebaut (die „come to me“-Passagen). „In diesem Song steckt alles, was eine Frau ausmacht: Gefährtin, Geliebte und Mutter. Das Original schwankt zwischen Zärtlichkeit und Erotik.“ Ich hatte damals das Gefühl, dass in meiner ersten Remix-Version etwas fehlte: die Antwort des Partners, der von ihrem Charme und ihrer Seele angezogen wird. Also nahm ich das Mikrofon und nahm meine Vocals in einem einzigen Take auf – ich war von Saras Stimme regelrecht hypnotisiert. Die Leute spüren diese Seele.
4. Ausblick: Was bringt die Zukunft?
Frage: Heartbeat Propaganda deutete an, dass sich bei Sara Noxx etwas zusammenbraut. Welchen Schwung gibt dieser Erfolg dem kommenden Material von Sara und Guido?
Peter: Es zeigt, dass Sara immer noch einen festen Platz im Herzen der Community hat. Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen ihr und Guido ist extrem vielversprechend. Ich bin sicher, er wird den perfekten Klangteppich für ihre Botschaften weben.
Frage: Und wie sieht es bei deinem Projekt People Theatre für 2026 aus?
Peter: Dieser Moment gibt mir viel Selbstvertrauen. Es ist die größte Belohnung, wenn die eigene Arbeit Menschen auch Jahre später noch bewegt. Ich werde dieses Jahr meine dritte E.P. veröffentlichen. Wer meinen Remix für Sara mag, wird auch an meinen neuen Sachen viel Freude haben!
